Magnolia Station's history - Magnolia Station Lofts
Land for Magnolia Station was first purchased and developed in 1911 by the Magnolia Petroleum Company. A group of investors built the petroleum blending and distribution center over the next seven years. Building D served as the original Magnolia Building offices until the company built its more familiar downtown headquarters with the flying red horse on top in the 1920's. Other site buildings include the warehouse, the cooper's building, the pump house, the machine shop, the truck garage, and the blending shed. Today they all contain loft apartments.

The solid masonry buildings were part of the fabulous Texas oil boom and represent a historic growth period in the State's development. The entire project is now listed on the Department of Interior's National Register of Historic Places. Magnolia, now Mobil Oil, moved in 1958. The property was subsequently owned by Neuhoff Brothers Meat Packing Company, and Kaymac Paper Company. It was purchased and developed as loft apartments in 1993 by the Bennett Miller Company.
